I've lived in this area for almost all of my life and don't get me wrong, I love it to pieces, but there really is not much to do for a queer chick under 21. I'm almost there, but it is still a constant pain in my ass. I don't even drink so whether I am 21 or not doesn't make a hint of a difference to me but apparently the difference between 20 and 21 is some huge thing to lesbians. There is not a single lesbian club in this area that lets in under 21s. The Black Cat did have a gay night which was fabulous and fun... but seriously... I feel like there is a relatively large underage demographic they just aren't reaching.
Anyway, there is no time in the year that causes me more annoyance than Capital Pride. Almost all of the night time events I would want to go to are 21+, and if they aren't, they are wicked expensive. I feel like that nixes out half of the college population. I would love to theorize on WHY this age discrimination happens, but I really have no idea. I would love to go out and play and have a good time... I love to support queer people... and I know I am not alone in my loves, so why the fuck are these lesbians so against people under 21?
Love Always, but seriously lesbians... get this shit together.
PS Yes I KNOW there are events for gay people that are under 21... but they are all mixed genders and all lean towards the male persuasion. Also gay male clubs have multiple nights each month for under 21s.

SM Presented The Rocky Horror Picture Show!
I have noticed that I have thus far began all my posts with "So," and I have decided that this line shall change that...
ANYWAY! I am bored and a bit loopy so this means that it is time for another blog post! Yayy!
This past weekend I was in The Rocky Horror Picture Show put on at the University of Maryland by the Satanic Mechanics (SM). These guys have pretty much been my life for the past while and I am so thankful to them. Anyway... I was delighted to be given the role of Magenta for our final show of the semester. Learning a shadowcasting role is a lot more difficult than you would think, at least coming from a theater perspective. When learning a normal role you have to become the character and learn the lines and then it is all great and dandy. Shadowcasting has both of those things, PLUS knowing exactly how the actor is positioned every moment they are on screen. This sh*t is tedious! WAY harder than I expected. I also missed doing tech... the techies are kind of beast in SM, just fyi. The show was great besides some major fails and I highly recommend that people come out and see it next semester.
Pictures to be stolen and added later.

Here is a photo of some of my favorite people on the planet... (I thought photos would spruce up the blog a bit)
